Terrence Crawford will face Israel Madrimov in Las Vegas for his fourth world title at different weights

Former world heavyweight champion Andy Ruiz takes on Jarrell Miller on the undercard at BMO Arena; Terence Crawford will fight on August 3 in Las Vegas against Israil Madrimov, who is aiming to win world titles in four weight classes.

Terrence Crawford takes on WBA light welterweight champion Israel Madrimov as he tries to win world titles at four different weights.

The 36-year-old American, who has won all 40 of his professional fights and previously held the welterweight, super lightweight and lightweight world titles, will face the Uzbek fighter in Los Angeles at the August 3 meeting.

In July of last year, Crawford defeated Errol Spence in a stunning match to become the welterweight champion. He then moved up to lightweight early in his career.

“I can’t wait to get back in the ring for the fourth time and remind the world why I am the best boxer in the world,” said Crawford. “Israel Madrimov is a champion, but on August 3, he will be my victim. This is Terrence Crawford’s season.

Madrimov, 29, beat Magomed Kurbanov in Riyadh in March to claim the vacant title and now has 10 wins and one draw.

Terrence Crawford is one of my favorite boxers and one of the best in the world,” Madrimov said. “I’m happy to have the opportunity to make a statement, and I will.

The undercard will feature former unification heavyweight champion Andy Ruiz, who defeated Anthony Joshua prior to the bout, his first appearance since September 2022. He will return to the boxing ring for the season first since defeating Luis Ortiz by decision. Ruiz will face Jarrell Miller, whose record was undefeated when he was beaten by Daniel Dubois in Riyadh in December, the event taking place outside of Saudi Arabia for the first time this season.
